Asst. Deputy Director of Homeland Security and Interoperability
Jason Lachney serves as the Assistant Deputy Director of Homeland Security and Interoperability in the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) and was appointed by the Director in December 2019. He leads the division and its related initiatives, which include cyber security, geographical information systems, Louisiana Wireless Information Network (LWIN), FirstNet, school safety, intelligence and information sharing, and critical infrastructure and key resources.
Since joining the agency in 2012, he has held several positions within GOHSEP, most recently as the Section Chief of GOHSEP Operations and the State Emergency Operations Center.
Jason attended LSU in Criminal Justice and has over 26 years in the Louisiana National Guard. He served as Operations NCO/Counterintelligence Agent and conducted national level investigations of foreign nationals and US Citizens. He completed the US Army Battle Staff Course, was a member of the 62nd Civil Support Team and is a graduate of the US Army Chemical School Advanced Non Commissioned Officers Course and completed the US Army Operational Radiation Safety Course. He was a certified Military Police officer and worked as a deputy In West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office as a Narcotics Agent.
Jason is married to Kelly and they have three children and three grandchildren.
