Regional Director’s Subcommittee

The Regional Parish OHSEP Directors Subcommittee (Regional Directors Subcommittee) was created as a subcommittee under the Unified Command Group (UCG) in March 2008 as part of the authority of the Louisiana Homeland Security and Emergency Assistance and Disaster Act (Louisiana Disaster Act) The UCG is the State’s strategic decision-making body for emergency and disaster response and is comprised of emergency response professionals.

Membership

The Regional Directors Subcommittee is composed of one (1) Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) Director from each Region. Representatives are selected from among their peers and represent their Region. Terms are determined by OHSEP Directors within the Region and terms vary.  

Duties

The Subcommittee provides a forum where the different Regions collectively discuss homeland security and emergency management issues each other and the Director of GOHSEP. Members provide a regional perspective as they offer advice and counsel to Parish or Police Jury Presidents regarding strategic emergency management issues and planning.

The Subcommittee may also establish working groups for specific issues when required.
