Attendance

Attendees are required to attend all scheduled training
sessions. Credit for course completion may not granted
to attendees who miss course instruction. Only the
instructor or the GOHSEP Training Branch may authorize
an attendee's absence.
The State
approves applicants for training course attendance
without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national
origin, handicap or age. All agencies nominating or
approving applicants to attend courses shall comply with
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Section 50q of
the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended; The Age
Discrimination Act of 1975; and regulations promulgated
hereunder.
Cost of
Training
GOHSEP
does not reimburse training attendees for per diem,
travel or lodging costs. Jurisdictions should be
prepared to pay associated travel costs for first
responders who attend training.
Class
Size
Training classes will be conducted with a minimum of 20
students unless otherwise announced. Maximum class size
may vary depending upon specific course requirements.
Class Confirmation
The
GOHSEP Training Branch
will confirm by phone or email each applicant accepted
into a training class. Late enrollments may be approved
as class space permits. Substitution of enrolled
participants is acceptable with advance coordination
through the Training Branch.
Registration Cancellation
Individuals should contact the
GOHSEP Training Branch
to cancel registration for any training class.
Class
Cancellation
Courses, dates and locations are subject to change or
cancellation based upon student registration, instructor
availability, facilities and funding.
Should an insufficient number of responders register for
a course, that course may be cancelled. When class
cancellation is necessary, we will notify applicants as
soon as possible and make every effort to reschedule the
course.
GOHSEP Instructors
Louisiana first responders benefit from the experience
and knowledge of those who obtain GOHSEP approval as
State training instructors. To be considered,
individuals must apply for approval to teach specified
training classes.
These approved GOHSEP instructors are volunteers and are
not paid or reimbursed for costs incurred to instruct.
We are actively recruiting qualified instructors to
teach Emergency Management classes. If you have
expertise in an area of emergency management and are
interested in joining our adjunct faculty, please
contact the
GOHSEP Training Branch.
