If you
sustained
damage
from
Hurricanes
Gustav
and
Ike
you
must
submit
a Request
for
Public
Assistance
(RPA) for
both
storms.
They
are
individually
declared
disasters and
must
have
individual RPA's
to
be
eligible
for
Public
Assistance
for
the
separate
events.
While
the
14
Parishes (Acadia,
Beauregard,
Calcasieu,
Cameron,
Iberia,
Jefferson,
Jefferson
Davis,
Lafourche,
Plaquemines,
Sabine,
St,
Mary,
Terrebonne,
Vermillion
and
Vernon)
may
become
eligible
for
additional
categories
of
damage,
they
have
already
been
declared
for
Category
A
and
B
and
it
is
imperative
that
you
submit an
RPA
for
Hurricane
Ike.
Guidance
for submitting
the
necessary
form follows.
The
Public
Assistance
Section
of
The
Governor’s
Office
of
Homeland
Security
and
Emergency
Preparedness
would
like
to
call
your
attention
to
the
online
availability
allowing
you
to
complete
your
Request
for
Public
Assistance
in
accordance
with
44
CFR
§
206.202(c)
.
Current
users
must
login
to
their
account
online
and
click
on
“Submit
for
a
New
Disaster”
field
on
the
summary
page
of
their
account.
Fill
out
all
applicable
fields
of
the
RPA
online
and
submit
to
the
State
when
complete. For
new
applicants
who
do
not
currently
have
user
access
they
can
manually
complete
the
form. The
form
can
be
located
on
the
Louisianapa.com
home
page.
Select
the
Resources
tab
and
the
Request
for
Public
Assistance
will
be
found
under
the
forms
section
heading. This
form
can
be
printed,
manually
completed
and
faxed
to
225-267-2832
with
any
attachments
required.
In
order
to
expedite
processing
of
requests
we
ask
that
all
applicable
information
is
filled
out
and
that
phone
numbers
and
e-mail
addresses
are
complete
and
accurate.
Private
Non-Profit
Organizations
must
attach
copies
of
their
Tax
Exemption
Certificate
and
Organization
Charter
or
By-Laws
with
the
request.
In
addition
if
an
organization
is a
school
or
educational
facility,
they
should
attach
information
on
accreditation
or
certification
with
the
request.
