Louisiana Training & Exercise Plan
The Louisiana Training and Exercise Plan for 2012 - 2013 is a living document that will be updated and refined annually. This plan provides a roadmap for Louisiana to follow in accomplishing the priorities described in the State of Louisiana Homeland Security Strategy. Each priority is linked to the associated target capabilities that will facilitate its accomplishment and to the training and exercises that will help obtain or validate those capabilities and address that priority.
The Training and Exercise Plan includes a graphic illustration of proposed activities for the years 2012 – 2013. It represents the natural progression of training and exercises that should take place in accordance with the building-block approach.

Louisiana 2011 New Madrid Exercise Presentations
The State of Louisiana 2011 New Madrid Exercise Series was held on July 14-15, 2011 in Baton Rouge, La. Louisiana remains committed to serving the citizens by being prepared for, and responding to every type of event. This also includes assisting other states who have been affected by a natural, biological, or manmade incident. For this reason, this year GOHSEP has decided to focus our efforts on a New Madrid earthquake event. The series consisted of a seminar on day one, followed by a table top exercise on day two. Please see below for some of the presentations from the seminar.
State of Louisiana May 2011 Flood AAR
The Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) identified 25 parishes as the focus of a statewide after-action report (AAR) following the May 2011 flood of the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Through collaboration and coordination with emergency management directors and regional coordinators of parishes affected, the AAR captures the strengths, challenges, trends, and lessons learned during this event.
