Education Outreach Program For May & June

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) will be conducting its annual Education Outreach Program in eight cities across the state in May and June. This training is for all parish, municipal and private non-profit executives and those staff members who have responsibilities for emergency preparedness, response and recovery. The seminar will begin at 8:30am with a short introduction followed by breakout sessions for each discipline beginning at 9:00am. The seminar will end at approximately 5:00pm.

The agenda consists of the following subject matter:

Emergency Management Law
Target audience: Attorneys for the parishes, municipalities and private non-profit organizations, senior level parish and municipal executives.

The seminar has been approved by the LSBA MCLE Committee for 5.5 hours of CLE

Grants Management
Target audience: Individuals responsible for policy, record keeping, finance and budget who need to understand the reimbursement process for the FEMA Public Assistance program.

Preliminary Damage Assessments
Target audience: Parish and municipality public works supervisors and engineers, drainage district, water district, school district supervisors and engineers, facility managers for parish, municipal and all other public entities, and private non-profit organizations.

Debris Management
Target audience: Parish and municipal debris managers and financial personnel responsible for debris operations.

Emergency Management and Homeland Security
Target audience: All parish, state and profit non-profit officials, particularly parish presidents, municipal chief executive officers, sheriffs and their executive staffs

Mitigation
Individuals who are responsible for the management of the five FEMA mitigation programs

Environmental and Historical Preservation
Target audience: Parish and municipal permit personnel, environmental engineers

There is no cost to attend.
