BATON ROUGE (September 11, 2024) – The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) is urging everyone to stay weather aware and use caution as Hurricane Francine moves on land this evening.
“The window for storm preparations has closed,” said GOHSEP Director Jacques Thibodeaux. “We encourage everyone to stay in a safe location until the storm leaves the region. Even after Francine passes, stay off the roads as first responders, utility crews and others help with the recovery process. If you must travel, remember to check 511la.org for road closure information. Never drive on flooded roads.”
