Baton Rouge, LA – As the 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina nears, Governor Jeff Landry announced that August 29, 2025, will be recognized across Louisiana as "Hurricane Katrina Remembrance Day".
Baton Rouge – The Louisiana National Guard (LANG) and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) invite members of the media to attend a hurricane preparedness news conference. The event marks the start of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
Baton Rouge, LA—Today, Governor Landry announced a cost savings restructure of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP). GOHSEP will now be under the Louisiana National Guard with Brig. Gen. Jason Mahfouz serving as the interim director of GOHSEP—responsible for day-to-day operations. Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Thomas Friloux, will provide oversight to GOHSEP during this transition.
