NEW ORLEANS- Starting Monday, January 13, the State Fire Marshal's Office (SFM) will be expanding its services to the people of Louisiana by launching 'Area NOLA.'

'Area NOLA' will be an additional district in our Enforcement division focused solely on complex inspections within Orleans Parish that will also work in collaboration with Troop NOLA's efforts in the city. These inspections will center around state buildings, high-rise buildings, and ensuring appropriate occupancy is maintained in all types of commercial buildings during special events like Mardi Gras and the upcoming Super Bowl.

"I am thrilled to announce the launch of 'Area NOLA,'" said State Fire Marshal Chief Bryan J Adams, "Given the numerous state buildings and the complexities of inspections in Orleans Parish, it is vital that we have a dedicated team of well-trained professionals to address these critical areas," said Chief Adams, "Our collaboration with 'Troop NOLA,' and the ongoing partnership with the New Orleans Fire Department, is essential for the success of not only New Orleans, but our entire great state. Together, we are poised to make a significant impact!"

'Area NOLA' will remain based at the SFM's regional office in Benson Tower along with our regional Plan Review team and existing Area 1 enforcement staff.
